Jim Eller was born July 4, 1952 in Clifton Forge, Va. And attended local public schools, Greenbrier Military School, and Emory and Henry College. He and his wife Joyce Ann attend Central United Methodist Church where he has served as Chairman of the Administrative Board and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Noble Eller was raised to the Degree of Master Mason in 1974 in Clifton Forge Lodge #166. He has twice been elected to serve his Lodge as Master; first in 1978 and again in 1986. In 1992, the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia appointed him to serve as District Deputy Grand Master of the 23rd Masonic District. He is a member and Past High Priest of Alleghany Chapter #24, R.A.M., a member of Alleghany Commandery #23, K.T. and a member of the Roanoke Scottish Rite Bodies.

Eller was created a Noble in Kazim Shriners in 1974. He is a member and past President of both the Clifton Forge and Hot Springs Shrine Clubs. He is a member of the Director's Staff, an honorary member of the Car Unit, and a member and Past Director of Roanoke Court #59, Royal Order of Jesters.
