Past Potentate Dr. Wallace C. Nunley Sr. 1989

Dr. Wallace C. Nunley, Sr of Clifton Forge, Virginia Kazim's 70th Potentate, graduated from Rainelle High School, Rainelle, West Virginia, from Hampton - Sydney and the University of Virginia Medical School completing his residency at the University of Virginia in 1950. He recently retired after practicing medicine for over forty years.

"Doc" is not only known as an outstanding diagnostician, businessman, community leader, and humanitarian but is known by the love he shows his family. He has and currently holds many positions within the medical and business professions.

He was raised in the Midland Trail Lodge No. 166, A.F. & A.M. , Rainelle, West Virginia, on September 27, 1944 and is presently a member of Clifton Forge Lodge No. 166, A.F. & A.M. the Roanoke Scottish Rites Bodies, Clifton Forge and Hot Springs Shrine Clubs. He was appointed to the Kazim Shriners Divan in 1982.

In 1997 Dr. Nunley was elected President of the South Atlantic Association which covers seven states. He was the second person from Kazim Shriners to receive this honor.

Dr. Nunley is married to the former Marguerite Maddux of Charlottesville, Virginia and they have a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Wallace C. Nunley Jr. and Donna of Charlotte, North Carolina and a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Howard P. Wilkinson Jr. of West Point, Virginia. They have four grandchildren, W.C. "Clay" III and Ryan Nunley, and Katherine and Preston Wilkinson.
